Valentines Disaster!

So I tried to be the "fun" Mom and get the boys a couple of fish instead of toys. My thinking was the have so many toys and they get so excited to see the fish at the pet stores! Well I go to Petropics get the tank, filter, lights, plants, rocks the hole nine yards. So I come home with 6 fish...the boys were very very excited!!!! We get it all set up and follow the very close instructions they gave me at the store. Everybody was happy, then the very next morning when I wake up to my surprise all 6 fish were floating dead!!! I go into panic mode and get them out before the kids wake up. What is the first thing Dylan does when he wakes up...goes to see his fish! I decided to tell him that his fish were sleeping in the cave (that I bought as well). He seemed happy with that answer. So all morning he kept on going back to his dislike they were still "sleeping"! I was going to go back to the pet store but I felt too bad so I went to Wal-mart! I come home with 6 more fish...goldfish this time. They seemed easier! Dylan is happy because Mommy got him "orange" fish instead of the boring starter fish I got at petropics! Everybody is happy again...we went bowling yesterday afternoon and came home to 3 dead fish! Another one died within the next 5 minutes. So then we were down to 2. Right before I went to bed the 5th one croaked...wasn't lookin good for the other one either! Woke up at 4 am and poor thing I was cleaning out the evidence before the kids woke up!!! Went back to Petropics this morning with the kids and the water to have it tested! The lady failed to tell me the fish we had originally bought needed a heater...so we bought a heater and now have 3 fish that have been swimming very happily for the last 3 hours...please keep your fingers crossed for the next couple of days! Dylan thinks all his other fish are at the fish doctor throwing up!

What an adventure...

Since John and I got married in 2005 it has been nothing but an adventure filled with a bunch of life blessings! It is crazy to think that we will have been married for 5 years this coming June. The winter in 2005 we decided to start trying for a family, to our surprise I got pregnant the same month that we starting trying...we welcomed Dylan in September of 06 and then his little brother Landon came just 19 months later.

We have lived in 2 houses, John has had the great opportunity of getting 2 different jobs in 2009. He currently is working to IDOT (Illinois Department of Transportation) and loves it! We also run a tanning salon in Charleston and manage Litteken Rentals as well. We basically run around with our heads cut off but we some how manage to make it through each and everyday with smiles on our faces!

My goal is to start keeping track of our fun adventures that we do with the kids and post some pictures. We will see how well I can keep up!
